About Us

About the bride

Nicki grew up in Layton, UT from the time she was a little tyke.  Her parents are Paul and Karen, and she has two brothers Kenny, older, PJ, younger. She has degree from Westminster College, and double majored in Philosophy and Psychology with a minor in Spanish.
As a young girl she wanted to be a teacher.  Then she got to junior high and decided against that.  From that time until the later years of her undergrad she just wanted to be a mom.  When she got into college she absolutely fell in love the with the academic environment.  She decided that she wanted to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience.
Upon graduation life altered her course for her until, gradually, she found she might be most happy in libraries.  She has received an MLIS form the University of Iowa.  She works part time in a public library as a Reference Librarian over Young Adult Services and is enjoying that.  Mostly she wants to be a mom. :)

About the groom

Phil is charming and witty.  He grew up in Kaysville and was an adorable child.  Phil's family consists of his parent's, John and Judy, and one dearly departed sister, Megan.  Phil is studying at the University of Utah to earn his degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering.  He will finish this December! Yay!
He has worked for the past five years for a government contracted company called L3 Communications.  He really enjoys his work there and is excited about several new position transfers and career developments.  His true passion is for upgrading his vehicles’ for higher and faster performance!  He has turbo-ed, chipped and generally improved more cars that anyone can count. :)
Phil is a truly good man.  The kind that are such a rare treasure.  And, he has agreed to be mine.  For all eternity.

How we met

We met because we both lived in the same apartment complex in the Avenues in Salt Lake City.  It was such a charming little complex with a courtyard and a private parking lot!
Phil's first words to Nicki were spoken in that parking lot, "So, how do you like your new Jetta?"  His next words were: "Yeah, my roommate, Dave, and I both own Jetta's . . . but, it's not like that!"  Okay, Phil.  Okay.
After that point Phil started pursuing Nicki with a gusto! But, a subtle gusto, as he claims that she needed to be unaware of the pursuit.
Since that time the two have been inseparable emotionally . . . if not quite geographically. ;)
